The DCI Evan Warlow series is a character-led British police-procedural series set chiefly in West Wales. Its investigations take Warlow and his team through rural communities, coastal towns, former mining valleys and isolated landscapes where old loyalties can conceal very modern crimes.
Evan Warlow is an experienced detective whose attempted retirement proves remarkably unsuccessful. Working alongside DI Jess Allanby and a recurring team of Dyfed-Powys officers, he investigates murders, disappearances and buried crimes while navigating the personal consequences of police work.
The novels combine authentic procedure, intricate mysteries, Welsh settings, dry humour and an evolving cast of characters. Each book contains a principal investigation with its own resolution, although readers who follow the series in order will gain more from the continuing relationships and personal storylines.
